Community
Health care extends beyond the traditional model of brick-and-mortar facilities. Outreach efforts, health education classes and in-home patient visits serve key roles in establishing and sustaining a healthy community. Nurses help implement a multi-faceted, interdisciplinary approach to preventive health.
Bridging The Gap in Patient-Centered Care
No longer are nurses tied to bedside care. Nurses play a vital role in the overall health and wellness of communities, especially those patients who that have limited access to primary care providers. Serving urban, rural and underserved populations, Aggie nurses take health care to the patient.

"I knew I wanted to do something that made a difference...nursing was in the back of my mind, but wanting to do even more for those injured in the [West, Texas] explosion led me to become a nurse.”
