Compliance

All students enrolled in a Texas A&M College of Nursing program must meet certain compliance requirements upon acceptance. These requirements are pre-determined by our clinical partners and subject to change based on what is mandated by the facilities.


Current requirements include:

  • Hepatitis B titer showing positive immunity
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella titer showing positive immunity OR provider documentation of two doses of MMR vaccination
  • Varicella titer showing positive immunity OR provider documentation of two dose of varicella vaccination (history of disease not accepted as proof of immunity)
  • Tdap vaccination (within the last 10 years and given after age 18)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (required annually)
  • Tuberculosis testing (blood test accepted for all programs)
  • CPR (Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association)
  • Physical examination by a medical provider
  • Clear drug screen (ordered via compliance platform upon admission)
  • Clear background check (ordered via compliance platform upon admission)
  • Current health insurance (cost savings plans are not accepted by most facilities for students participating in clinical rotations)
  • HIPAA training (assigned through college platform upon admission)
  • Clinical training modules (assigned through college platform upon admission)
  • Essential competency requirements

This list is not all inclusive, and additional items may be required based on program.

All compliance requirements must be maintained for the duration of the student’s enrollment to remain in the program.
