Community Hands Advancing Maternal Health Promotion (CHAMPions)
The CHAMPions (Community Hands Advancing Maternal Health Promotion) program is an intervention designed to address maternal health disparities in underserved populations in Southeast Texas. The intervention trains and equips community members with specialized knowledge and skills to become “Maternal CHAMPions,” empowering pregnant and postpartum mothers to mitigate risk and improve maternal health outcomes.
CHAMPions serves the following counties:
- Bee
- Refugio
- San Patricio
- Nueces
- Jim Wells
To be eligible for CHAMPions, participants must:
- Be currently pregnant or have had a baby in the last 12 months
- Reside in one of the service counties
