Recognition Ceremony and Commencement
Spring 2026 College of Nursing Recognition Ceremony

Arrival time and parking
Students must arrive 45 minutes prior to the ceremony. Parking is available in the University Center Garage.
Check in
All students must check in immediately upon arrival. Follow the posted signage inside the facility. Students must be in their designated seats 15 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. Those not checked in by then will be removed from the script and not able to participate in the ceremony.
Student seating
The front rows are reserved for graduates in alphabetical order. Seating assignments will be provided at check in, and staff will be available inside the auditorium to help you find your assigned seat.
Dress code
Students receiving degree:
- Graduation regalia
- No mortarboard/cap
- Texas A&M-approved honors cords are allowed
- Business professional attire underneath regalia
Students receiving certificate:
- Business professional attire
Ceremony length
The ceremony lasts approximately one hour.
Walking the stage
All students will come forward to receive their nursing pin or hood and line up one row at a time. When the person on the right side of your row stands, follow them, emptying your row and lining up in the right aisle (to not block the view of the audience). As your name is called, walk up the steps to the stage. After receiving your pin or hood, walk across the stage and return to your seat.
Awards
College of Nursing awards will be given out during the ceremony. Graduates receiving an award will be announced as they walk the stage.
Guests
In order to accommodate seating capacity, each graduate may invite up to eight guests.
Accessible seating
Email mlarsen@tamu.edu at least one day prior to the ceremony if seating accommodations are needed for you or a guest.

Texas A&M student emails are active for a short time after graduation, so transitioning to a personal account is important.
Immunization records
Many employers ask for immunization records. Graduating students are encouraged to retrieve this documentation directly from the compliance management platform.
