Program of Excellence for Mothers, Children and Families
The Program of Excellence for Mothers, Children and Families (POEMCF) at the Texas A&M College of Nursing serves as a translational research and community engagement initiative aimed at advancing the health and well-being of families in rural and health provider shortage areas. POEMCF designs, implements, and evaluates evidence-informed interventions that address critical health issues affecting mothers, infants, children, and families.
Grounded in a collaborative framework, POEMCF partners with community organizations, private sector stakeholders, and interdisciplinary experts across Texas A&M University to integrate research, education, and practice. This approach facilitates the development of sustainable, culturally responsive strategies that strengthen family systems and promote intergenerational healthy outcomes.
POEMCF is distinguished by its commitment to deploying and rigorously assessing multiple evidence-based programs tailored to the unique needs of pregnant and parenting populations. Through its research-driven programming, POEMCF contributes to the broader scientific understanding of family health dynamics and informs policy and practice at local, state, and federal levels.
