Program of Excellence for Mothers, Children and Families
The Program of Excellence for Mothers, Children and Families (POEMCF) at the Texas A&M College of Nursing serves as a translational research and community engagement initiative aimed at advancing the health and well-being of families in rural and health provider shortage areas. POEMCF designs, implements and evaluates evidence-informed interventions that address critical health issues affecting mothers, infants, children and families.
Grounded in a collaborative framework, POEMCF partners with community organizations, private sector stakeholders and interdisciplinary experts across Texas A&M to integrate research, education and practice. This approach facilitates the development of sustainable strategies that strengthen family systems and promote intergenerational healthy outcomes.
The POEMCF is distinguished by its commitment to deploying and rigorously assessing multiple evidence-based programs tailored to the unique needs of pregnant and parenting populations. Through its research-driven programming, POEMCF contributes to the broader scientific understanding of family health dynamics and informs policy and practice at local, state and federal levels.
You can support the POEMCF through the Texas A&M Foundation.
